Ebersberger Volksfest 2025: Tradition, fun and hearty celebrations!

The anticipation for the Ebersberg Folk Festival is increasing: from August 9th to 19th, 2024, the city will once again become a festival mile for traditions, fun and, above all, Bavarian cosiness. Every year, the colorful lights, the smell of freshly fried delicacies and the sounds of music attract many visitors. On this special festival, young and old will come together to celebrate together.

On Friday, August 9th, the festival will open at 6:00 p.m. with a concert at Marienplatz, followed by a magnificent parade to the Volksfestplatz. The tapping of the barrel, immediately afterwards at 7:00 p.m., is traditionally carried out by Mayor Ulrich Proske, and the Glonner Musi provides the musical accompaniment. The folk festival promises great highlights: In addition to the popular Schafkopf Championship on August 10th, where Ebersberg's best card readers are sought, the half-price rides between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. are another highlight for the whole family.

A colorful program for everyone

The varied program offers visitors a wide selection of events. On Sunday, August 11th, an ecumenical service at 10:00 a.m. invites you to reflect, followed by a cheerful morning pint with the Ebersberg town band. The children don't miss out either: on Tuesday, August 12th, there will be a children's festival with games and a tombola, while the following day there will be an election for the Volksfestmadl, in which seven applicants compete against each other.

The festival runs daily from 11:30 a.m., and the folk festival also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine - the Kainz brothers and the Oberndorf cake ladies provide guests with traditional Bavarian delicacies. A pint of beer costs 11.60 euros this year, which is a fair price compared to other folk festivals.

Tradition meets modernity

The atmosphere of the Ebersberg Folk Festival combines Bavarian tradition with modern fun. This year’s event will feature a musical fireworks display on August 15th at 9:45 p.m., and on Sunday August 18th there will be a large flea market event with catering and a duck dinner later in the afternoon. The festival host family, especially Martin Lohmeyer, will be organizing the festival for the last time this year, which creates an additional emotional framework.

The Ebersberg Folk Festival is not only a festival for locals, but also a highlight worth experiencing for tourists. The festivals in Bavaria are known for always appealing to a wide audience and for allowing Bavarian culture and hospitality to be experienced. So if you're planning to visit or celebrate the region, you shouldn't miss the event and make reservations for the campsites now - it can get full quickly, especially on the weekends.
