Telemeter Electronic: 6,000 euros for families in need in the district!

In the run-up to Christmas it becomes particularly clear how important helpfulness and social responsibility are. Telemeter Electronic GmbH from Donauwörth is also committed to this. Instead of giving traditional Christmas presents to business partners, managing directors Thomas Schröttle and Christof Kronthaler decided to make two generous donations of 3,000 euros each to local aid organizations. The recipients of this support are the Glühwürmchen e.V. association and the “Children want to live, play, laugh” initiative.

Rosmarie Schweyer, the chairwoman of the Glühwürmchen association, is pleased with the support and emphasizes how important continuous support is for the association's sustainable work. This help is targeted where it is urgently needed. “We want to give hope, support and confidence to affected families and children,” explains Schweyer. The commitment of the volunteer members is recognized by the management and employees of Telemeter Electronic GmbH. They are committed to supporting families with seriously ill children in various areas of life, for example in times of hospital stays or financial bottlenecks.

Help where it is most needed

The donations flow directly into projects that bring small joys. For example, it can be used to finance books, thermometers or relaxation times. It's often the little things that make a big difference for families in difficult situations. Words of thanks for the generous support came from both Rosmarie Schweyer and Martin Obermann from the “Children want to live, play, laugh” initiative.

A look at the general donation landscape shows that the trend towards supporting children in need continues. In 2023, around 75% of private donations in Germany went to humanitarian aid, especially to support children and young people. Large children's charities raised over 1 billion euros in the same year, which not only shows how important the issue is, but also how great the willingness to help is.

Commitment to the future

Sponsorships and direct help are two approaches that many organizations pursue. Organizations such as Kindernothilfe or Plan International Deutschland, for example, offer sponsorships that not only benefit the children, but also their families. This form of support has proven to be effective and can often be supplemented by direct donations. The DZI donation seal ensures that the organizations work transparently and that at least 70 cents of every euro goes to the donation purpose.

With their decision to continue the fundraising campaign beyond the Christmas period, Telemeter and the supported associations show that it is important to uphold human values such as helpfulness and solidarity, not only during the holidays but also beyond. In this sense, it is gratifying to see that small regional companies are also finding their place in the larger structure of aid organizations and are thus bringing a light into the often dark times of families with sick children.
