Together strong: First network meeting for care in the district of Donau-Ries

The network meeting is not the only event that draws public attention to care in the district. As part of the Bavarian Demenwoche, the first nursing forum recently took place in the district office. This event was organized jointly by various institutions, including the competence network seniors, nursing and people with disabilities, as well as the District Office Donau-Ries and the health region plus. The aim of the forum was to create a clear structure, convey concrete content and to promote direct exchange between the participants. The topic of care is becoming increasingly important in the district, especially against the background of demographic change. 21.8% of the population are already over 65 in the region, and forecasts show that this share could increase to 27.8% by 2040. These numbers and the associated challenges, such as large distances and isolated, require increased networking and cooperation among local actors. Landkreis Nachrichten emphasizes that the introduction of "week of care" has already been found in a positive response in 2022 and that various events on this important topic have been offered every two years.

The total number of people in need of care in the district is expected to increase to over 8300 by 2040. This shows that not only social responsibility is growing, but also the need for well -networked support offers becomes more urgent. The almost 6,300 people in need of care who are currently being cared for at home are often dependent on help from relatives, since 83.8% do not use professional outpatient services. In view of these numbers and the increasing challenges, the creation of an effective network is essential.
