Flowering future: School garden in Dingolfing Awarded as a wild bee treasure!

Dingolfing, Deutschland - In Dingolfing, the students and teachers of the Herzog Georg School are entirely in their element. Your school garden is not only a place of learning, but also a true showcase project for natural gardening and biodiversity. As reports [Dingolfing-Landau] (https://dingolfing-landau.de/landratsamt/wildbienenschutz-zum-anfassen-ein- vortional cooperation project/), the garden is under the committed direction of the teachers Nina Mutze and Elena Spanner, who contribute to wild bees with passion and creativity. With numerous elements such as dead wood and open floor places as well as insect -friendly plants, the students have designed a valuable space for the blue -black wooden bee, which likes to visit the Muskatellers' Sale.

Your commitment and the sustainable orientation of the project did not go unnoticed. In the school year 2023/24, the garden was awarded first place in the “Germany buzzing” competition. This honor shows that the ideas and considerations of the students will not only be recognized locally, but also nationally. The collaboration with the environmental station in the current school year gave the pupil: Inside additional insights into dealing with nature.

activities and commitment

It is particularly exciting that the students led other classes through the garden and explained how to support wild bees. Nina Mutze was positive about the feedback from the students and the great commitment they showed in the tours. The work done is not unjustified - Bettina Zimmer from the environmental station thanked for the excellent cooperation and rewarded the children with refreshing ice vouchers. And that is far from the end: there are already plans for the continuation of the project for the next year in progress, so that enthusiasm and commitment to nature can be further strengthened.

Special focus also deserves the long -term goals and visions for the school garden. Similar to another project in school gardens of Saxony, where a specific program for nature gardening was launched, the garden should also grow over the years in Dingolfing. The goal is to create more habitats through various plants that benefit both humans and animals.

on the way to biodiversity

The experiences from May, when only the path was mowed as part of the "Mow -Free May" campaign and the remaining areas were brought to grow and bloom, have already brought impressive results. A total of 21 different plant species have grown throughout the school garden. These experiences show how important it is to respect nature and give its freedom. The students have freckles on their noses, but also a great thirst for knowledge that they want to breastfeed through their own experience.

In summary, it can be said that the Herzog Georg School in Dingolfing not only has a garden, but a living project that combines students, teachers and nature. It is a step towards a more sustainable and loving world in which all living things find their place - and the best thing about it? It is fun for the students!
