Martial arts benefit in Dillingen: 20,000 euros for a good cause!
An impressive charity course took place in Dillingen, which attracted more than 360 athletes from around 50 clubs from Germany and the Czech Republic. The course took place under the guidance of around 20 grandmasters, including Olympic trainers and various martial arts experts, who passed on their knowledge and tips to the participants. “It's not just about learning techniques, but also about the feeling of community that is awakened here between young and old,” reported Ulrike Stoll, an enthusiastic participant who was not spared from sore muscles after the training.
Awards and honors
Another highlight was the honoring of Heinrich Magosch by Mayor Frank Kunz, who presented him with the Golden Badge of Honor from the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV). But that wasn't all: Magosch also received the Golden Medal of Merit from the city of Dillingen. His commitment to the martial arts community was particularly recognized: he has led the Donau-Lech-Iller Taekwondo Club for 40 years, which today has over 1,600 members.
This year there was also a reception for the grand masters in the town hall on the evening before the course, where Magosch's commitment was particularly recognized. What is particularly noteworthy is that he won 300 Bavarian and 85 German championship titles in his career and can hold several titles himself, including 33 Bavarian and 19 German championship titles.
An evening full of action and support
The course came to a spectacular conclusion with a martial arts gala that attracted over 400 spectators to the Kneipp Hall. Athletes presented impressive performances that captivated the audience. Encouraged by the lively participation and the impressive execution, the organizers were proud to report total proceeds of 20,000 euros, which were donated to the card index of need. Berthold Veh accepted the symbolic check during a ceremony at Kalteneck Castle in Schwenningen.
Thanks to a generous donation from an entrepreneur, Andreas Kimmerle, the donation of 9,050 euros that Magosch had announced was increased to a total of 20,000 euros and caused a standing ovation from the audience. “It's overwhelming to get so much support for a good cause,” said Magosch, who continues to be actively involved in the card index of need, even though he reportedly wanted to host his last martial arts gala in 2019. Overall, the event in Dillingen not only shows the enthusiasm and cohesion in the martial arts family, but also how sport can promote greater engagement in society. The platform for martial artists and the networking of various disciplines remain of great importance. BaseForFight sees potential here for further improvement and support in the martial arts industry.
