Dillingen is looking for magnificent Christmas trees: donate trees now!
Christmas is coming very soon in Dillingen! The city is currently looking for beautifully grown Christmas trees that will shine in public spaces during the festive period. As the Augsburger Allgemeine reported, citizens can make their trees available. Specimens that have grown evenly and are the right size are particularly important.
If you would like to donate a suitable tree, you can contact Roland Nothofer, the head of the city's building department, directly. Please call 09071/71113 to make an appointment. The trees are assessed after an appointment has been made and the selected trees are removed free of charge by the building yard employees.
Thank you for the donors
A nice thank you from the city goes out to all donors who would like to contribute to the success of the Christmas decorations. The festive atmosphere in Dillingen will definitely be very popular.
As the city prepares for the upcoming celebrations, there is also tragic news to report from around the world. On November 1st, a devastating explosion occurred at a dollar store in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Tragically, 23 people, including children, lost their lives. Several dozen people suffered injuries, some seriously. The incident occurred during Día de los Muertos celebrations, as USA Today reported.
The accident occurred at the Waldo’s store, a popular discount chain in Mexico. The governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo, announced a “thorough and transparent investigation” into what happened. The cause of the explosion and subsequent fire remains unclear. Sonora's prosecutor, Gustavo Salas, noted that some of the deaths resulted from inhalation of toxic gases. Fortunately, there are no signs of a targeted attack; The investigation is currently focusing on a transformer in the store.
Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, while Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum Prado expressed her condolences and pledged support for the affected region. At such a moment, the time of celebration becomes all the more thoughtful.
Whether in Dillingen or in Mexico, Advent encourages people to do something good and be there for one another. The city looks forward to the coming Christmas moments as the world continues to show its compassionate side.
