The festival was openedwith an impressive volley and a double strike that staged the timeless customs of the firecracker. Chairman Werner Bauer welcomed numerous guests of honor - including District Administrator Bernd Sibler and Mayor Jürgen Roith, who both were very pleased with the commitment of the association. The 2nd Gauschützenmeister Heiner Gegenfurtner as well as other guests of honor such as Leo Neumaier, Franz Singer and Rudi Achatz were also present and thus showed the great appreciation for the tradition of firecrackers.
over 500 years of tradition
Werner Bauer reviewed the history of the association and reported that firecrackers have been practiced among the firecrackers for over 500 years. The start of the custom can be traced back to 1377. One of the earliest documented mentions took place in 1666 at a Christmas shooting in the Deggendorf region. It was not until 1987, when Leo Neumaier, Hans Stumpf and Josef Seidl passed the firecracker exam, was the firecracker revived in today's form and thus rekindled interest, which led to the establishment of the association in 2000. The initially five firecrackers have grown to 86 today, which are active in different groups, which has strongly approved the fire shooting in the Gau Deggendorf HSG reports that ....
Another highlight of the association was the purchase of the club standards in 2006, which was blessed and has been an important symbol for the association since then. Participation in the 3rd Eastern Bavarian firecracker meeting in Deggendorf, in which almost 1000 participants were expected, is also evidence of the liveliness of the association.
firecrackers as a cultural heritage
The firecracker, also called pillory shooting, is one of the most traditional customs in Bavaria and Austria. It is particularly popular with festivals and special events, be it at weddings, church consecration or New Year's celebrations. Tradition even goes back to the time of the Holy Roman Empire when firecrackers were purchased for alarm. Böller shooting also played an important role from the point of view: there was hardly a public event in which it was not pointed out with Böllerschüssen on special occasions Wikipedia reported that ...
However, the safety regulations for firecrackers are strict. Each shooter requires a permit according to § 27 of the Sprensing Act, and the firecrackers must be checked regularly. So behind this custom is not only celebrating, but also a great security aspect that cannot be neglected.
In conclusion, Werner Bauer thanked all helpers and especially Klemens Pfeuffer and Franz Singer for her great support during the day. In the greetings, both Mayor Roith and District Administrator Sibler expressed their congratulations to the club and reminded of old traditions such as Christmas and New Year's Eve on Pledlberg. The Böller shooter Donaugau Deggendorf e.V. therefore stands for a centuries of tradition, but also for community, customs and the care of historical values in the region.Details | |
