Tragic bathing trip: 79-year-old drowns in the Sylvensteinsee

Sylvensteinsee, Deutschland - A tragic bathing accident occurred on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in Sylvensteinsee: A 79-year-old man suddenly went down while swimming and could only be recovered dead. At around 10.50 a.m., his wife alerted the integrated control center in Oberland when her husband disappeared into the waters of the east bank.

Despite quick help from the local water watch and the emergency doctor, who only found the death of the man, any help came too late. While the investigation was taken over by the Weilheim criminal police, the grieving wife was looked after by a crisis intervention team. So far there is no evidence of external debt, but the criminal police investigations are ongoing.
