Early on Friday morning, July 4th, 2025, there was a small fire in front of the former federal police building in Bad Reichenhall. The Reichenhall police received the report at 4:45 a.m. Residents who reacted quickly were able to put out the fire in front of the entrance portal before the emergency services arrived. The incident is part of a worrying series of fires in the region. On April 5, 2025, there were several fire brigade operations in an apartment building on Getreidegasse. First, a garbage can burned in the garbage room, after which a woman had to be taken to hospital with mild smoke poisoning. The property damage amounted to around 10,000 euros, although the criminal police assume that the fire was deliberately set. Later in the evening there was another fire in the bicycle storage room, which caused property damage amounting to around 5,000 euros.
