FC Erzgebirge Aue triumphs against Bayreuth: 4:2 in the friendly!

At the Hans Walter Wild Stadium in Bayreuth, FC Erzgebirge Aue won their friendly against SpVgg Bayreuth 4:2 (3:0). This duel marked the end of an intensive training camp in Bad Gögging, which gave the players the opportunity to get fit for the second half of the season. The newcomers were in top form and made a decisive contribution to the victory. Right at the start of the game, Moritz Seiffert managed to sink the ball into the goal after a cross in the 2nd minute and thus score the opening goal. Aue dominated the game for long stretches.

In the first half, coach Jens Härtel's team didn't let themselves be disturbed. In the 20th minute, Erik Majetschak made it 2-0 with a header, followed by a deflected shot from Ryan Malone in the 33rd minute that made the score 3-0. Even though Aue showed some defensive wobbles during the first 45 minutes, this was not punished. After the half-time break, the game became quieter before Malone scored again in the 72nd minute from a corner from Marvin Stefaniak and increased the score to 4-0.

Coach Härtel's review of the training camp

Overall, coach Härtel was satisfied with the week in Belek, in which the team had the opportunity to get to know each other and work intensively on the game philosophy. Even though some players struggled with injuries - Marvin Stefaniak could only train individually and Boris Tashchy has a rib injury - the team used the training time effectively. On Saturday evening the team returned to wintry temperatures in the Erzgebirge in order to optimally prepare for the game against the second team from Hannover 96 on Friday.

The week was characterized by different training aspects that required a careful preparation plan. This is particularly important in order to get the players fit and injury-free into the season. A well-thought-out preparation plan includes progressive loading and is crucial to accommodate varying fitness levels within the team. According to experts, test games such as those against Ulm (2:2) and Aarau (1:2) should also be included in the planning in order to gain valuable insights before the league games.

The team structure and important decisions

Martin Männel remains in the team as captain and was elected to the team council together with Marvin Stefaniak, Erik Majetschak, Ryan Malone and Pascal Fallmann. These decisions illustrate the team dynamic and the trust the coach has in his players. Männel and his teammates will now have to show in the coming weeks that they can emerge from the training camp stronger.

Overall, FC Erzgebirge Aue has had a strong preparation. During the training camp atmosphere, the players developed their fitness and team chemistry. Aue will go into the second half of the season in a positive mood, with the first competitive game already coming up.
