Mistelgau, Deutschland - On June 29, 2025 it will be ready again: the Open garden door opens its gates in the city and district of Bayreuth. Garden lovers can look forward to an exciting journey of discovery through the gardens of the region from 11 a.m. to late afternoon. The event is organized by the Bavarian State Association for Horticulture and State Care, in close cooperation with the local district associations. The aim is to present the private garden culture and promote nature -related gardening.

On the big day, visitors will have the opportunity to visit private retreats that have been designed with a lot of love for many years. What exactly does guests expect? From natural self-catering gardens to classic perennial beds to romantic cottage gardens-there is a lot to discover. Sustainability, biodiversity and the exchange of different experiences are the focus. The hosts of the gardens also have exciting tips, for example for optimal plant selection and ecological design.

Overall, the following gardens are part of the event:

• Cottage garden of Cornelia Pfefferle (Streit 5, 95490 Mistelgau)
  -approx. 1500 m² divided into perennial discounts, orchard with pond and an inner courtyard with outer kitchen.
• Landgarten von Edeltraud and Jürgen Gahn (Ackermannshof 22, 95482)
  - on 0.5 hectares there is nature and utility garden, including vegetable area, greenhouse with different types of tomatoes, flower meadows, fruit trees and a garden pond.

If you visit the gardens, please note the rules of the coexistence: Visitors are guests in private gardens and should only move on the paths or lawns. In front of photos or bringing dogs, the permission of the garden owners must always be obtained. The duty of supervision for children brought with them is also particularly important.

already before June 1, 2025, the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt opens private gardens that can be visited from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The opening ceremony takes place in the garden of the Hardt family at Ringstrasse 5 in Aurachtal. Among other things, visitors can admire a green garage roof and exciting wild perennial beds.
