Art snack in Bamberg: Chess game of cultures on July 3!

Domplatz 8, 96049 Bamberg, Deutschland - chess games in lunch break - this will be a special experience on July 3 in the new residence in Bamberg. The circle of friends of the museums around the Bamberg Cathedral invites you to a art snack , which begins at 12:30 p.m. in the billiard salon of the prince-bishop's apartment. Within just 30 minutes, the participants can immerse themselves in the world of the unusual chess variants.

The program includes a fascinating chess game that combines cultures and continents. The favor of the hour is used to present the old Chinese chess shape Xiangqi , which was translated into the "European" for the participants. The collection of Ludwig is a permanent loan of Peter and Irene Ludwig Foundation and shows the versatile stylistic beauty of the 18th century. The prince -bishop's apartment from 1703 was set up for Prince -Bishop Lothar Franz von Schönborn and stands for the Chinese entertainment of that time. The exhibits include porcelain mainly from the renowned manufactures of Meißen and Frankenthal.
