50 years of the Bad Kissingen Recorder Ensemble: A celebration of music and honor!

It was a celebratory evening in Bad Kissingen when that happened Recorder ensemble celebrated its 50th anniversary with a magnificent concert in the Church of the Redeemer. The event on October 11, 2025 offered a diverse musical program that spanned five centuries and promised a feast for the ears for young and old.

Together with the St. Elisabeth Garitz church choir under the direction of cantor Christine Stumpf, the sounds of the recorder mixed with the voices of the singers. Church music director Jörg Wöltche, who also played himself, emphasized the versatility of the instrument in his speech. Works by well-known composers such as Palestrina and Vivaldi were on the program as well as contemporary pieces by the Beatles and Paul Leenhoust, which only increased the audience's enthusiasm.

Honors and farewell

The evening was not only musical, but also emotional. Several long-standing members of the ensemble were honored for their loyalty. Among them are Anke Dörner and Annette Erb, who have been there since 1975, as well as Gisela Pfann and Dr. Ingrid Rott, who has been part of the ensemble since 1976. Ingrid Hartlehnert's 30-year membership was particularly highlighted. The audience showed their appreciation with long applause, also for the young recorder students who bravely presented themselves to the audience.

The concert came to a culminating conclusion with well-known melodies such as “Tango for Elise”, “on bright days” by Giovanni Gastoldi and the timeless hit “Yellow Submarine”, which caused the joy in the hall to explode once again. After the musical performances, a reception in a festive atmosphere invited participants to reflect on the evening's experiences. With a glass in hand, visitors exchanged memories and thoughts about the ensemble and its history.

A look into the future

An interesting aspect of the evening was Christine Stumpf's announced farewell on November 30th at the Advent carol singing, where she will say goodbye to her long-standing leadership of the ensemble. However, the future of the recorder ensemble remains uncertain. Thank God those involved are optimistic that the tradition and love of music will continue to exist in Bad Kissingen.

The parish itself also has a lot to offer. In addition to the ensemble, she is involved in numerous areas, such as church services, confinement courses and collaboration with Lebenshilfe Bad Kissingen. The executive pastor Jacqueline Barraud-Volk invites everyone who is interested Homepage to visit to learn more about the diverse offerings the community has to offer.

The evening was a successful occasion to commemorate 50 years of music and community and to look to a hopeful future.
