Fire brigade operations in the early morning: chaos in the Aschaffenburg district!
Today, December 8th, 2025, there was a lot going on in the Aschaffenburg district - our volunteer fire departments had their hands full. Several operations in the early hours of the morning kept the emergency services on their toes. There were several alarms, particularly on the busy A3 motorway, which has a total length of 769 kilometers and runs from the Dutch border to Austria. This highway is known for the daily occurrence of serious accidents and today was no different. According to the Tag24 news service, such situations are not uncommon and are regularly reported by the police to keep an eye on the traffic situation.
The first alarm was received at Goldbach at 4:23 a.m. when the fire alarm system in the south tube of the noise protection enclosure went off. The Goldbach, Hösbach and Waldaschaff volunteer fire departments, as well as the district fire council and the district fire inspector, arrived here. A technical defect in the tunnel technology turned out to be the cause, and the site was ultimately handed over to the motorway maintenance department. Only a short time later, at 6:27 a.m., the same location had to be called out again when another detector went off - fortunately without any actual fire being detected. The fire brigade was able to respond quickly, but the temporary complete closure of the tunnel tubes led to traffic disruptions.
Traffic chaos on the A3
The helpers then received a serious alarm at 7:33 a.m.: A truck fire was reported shortly after the Weibersbrunn driveway. Here too, the Weibersbrunn and Waldaschaff volunteer fire departments responded to help directly. Fortunately, it turned out that the truck had broken down due to a technical defect in the engine and there was no fire. Nevertheless, this incident caused significant traffic delays on the motorway, which is particularly busy in Bavaria.
But the missions were not just limited to the A3. The fire department in Winzenhohl was also alerted at 7:00 a.m. when a gas alarm went off in a private property. The fire brigades from Hösbach-Bahnhof and Winzenhohl set out and the residents were able to leave the property safely. On site it turned out that there was no gas concentration in the basement, so the site was successfully handed over to the gas supplier.
Accidents in Alzenau and Stockstadt
The day remained turbulent: at 8:51 a.m. there was a traffic accident on Junkerstrasse in Alzenau. A motorcyclist was injured and was already receiving emergency medical treatment while the fire department secured the scene of the accident and collected resources. The police subsequently took over the investigation.
The last operation of the morning took place at 9:40 a.m. in Stockstadt, where a single Kia Seat was involved in an accident on the B469. Fortunately, the driver was uninjured and the fire department secured traffic and cleared the road. Here too, the site was then handed over to the traffic police and the road construction authority.
The large number of these operations shows once again how important a well-organized fire service is. Day after day, the helpers stand on their feet to support people in need and ensure safety on our roads. A big thank you to all emergency services who, despite the challenges, carry out their duties with dedication!
