On Thursday afternoon, June 26, 2025, a tragic accident occurred on the Mariahilfberg in Amberg, in which a 62-year-old man lost his life. According to the first reports, the man wanted to drive up on the loading area of ​​a transport vehicle shortly after 4:00 p.m. with a forklift. Tragically, the vehicle tipped to the side and the man tried to get to safety by jumping. But he got under the falling tool.

The emergency services were quickly on hand and immediately initiated resuscitation measures before the injured was taken to a hospital. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards the man succumbed to his serious injuries. The Amberg criminal police have investigated the cause of the accident, although no evidence of external negligence has been found so far.
