Mighty Dogs start the second half of the season: home game against Amberg on Sunday!

On Sunday, December 7th, 2025, the ice hockey fireworks will be set off in the Icedome in the region when the Mighty Dogs welcome ERSC Amberg for the start of the second half of the season. The first half of the Bavarian League ice hockey season is already over, and the team from Ried is currently in third place in the table, just five points behind leaders Königsbrunn. Meanwhile, ERSC Amberg is fighting in the bottom of the table and urgently needs points in order not to lose touch with tenth place, especially after the serious injuries to their players.

The Mighty Dogs are currently enjoying encouraging form, led by their top performers. Zheltakov leads the scoring charts with an impressive 46 points from 14 games, followed by Tomas Cermak with 42 points and Petr Pohl with 38 points, meaning the Mighty Dogs' parade line has collectively scored over 126 points. This shows that Rieder's offensive is really popular. However, next Sunday will be a challenge as Moritz Schlick cannot play due to injury.

The situation at ERSC Amberg

As the ERSC Amberg announces on its website, they play a key role in ice hockey in the region and try to continually improve their work. Despite the difficult times and the injury problems, including prominent failures like Michael Kirchberger, there is a strong solidarity among the players, parents and sponsors. This support is urgently needed to lead the club through the current phase and to sustainably strengthen youth work. After a disappointing start to the season, coach Jan Bönning was also fired. Kevin Lavallee takes interim responsibility, supported by Dirk Salinger.

ERSC Amberg is already playing a catch-up game against Dingolfing this Friday, while the Mighty Dogs have the day off to pool their strengths.

Invitation to the home game

The doors to the Icedome will be open at 5 p.m. for the home game against Amberg on Sunday. The first puck drops promptly at 6 p.m. There are only a few seats left, but tickets are available both online and at the door. The game will also be streamed live on SpradeTV for all fans who cannot be there.

The second half of the season promises exciting moments, and the Mighty Dogs are determined to carry on the momentum from the first half of the season. We can only hope that the team can continue to show their strong performances in the coming games and that the support of their loyal fans remains high.
