Gasthof Graming: Experience tradition and Bavarian delicacies!

In picturesque Graming, south of Altötting, is the Gasthof Weißbräu - a true monument to Bavarian pub culture. This traditional institution can look back on over 120 years of history, which began in 1900. At that time, master brewer Josef Krähschutz acquired the property and it has been run by the family ever since, now in the fourth generation. Such continuity is a rarity these days, which many guests appreciate.

The inn's menu offers something for every palate. In addition to Bavarian classics such as roast pork and cordon bleu, there are also vegan options such as falafel with traditional Bavarian rice. The focus is always on regionality, as the fresh ingredients largely come from local farms. “Eating out should bring more joy and socializing again,” emphasizes the innkeeper, and appeals to guests to go to the inn more often again.

Prices and staff

The last price increase was a year ago and the current prices are €16.90 for the vegan dish and the popular cordon bleu. Despite these fair prices, the inn had to overcome challenges: Currently there are “only” temporary staff in the service, which leads to difficulties in planning. The team hopes that full-time staff can be found again soon to offer guests the usual service.

What is particularly notable is the decline in the number of regulars in the inn, which has fallen from 60 to just 20. This dismal development is not only a challenge for pub culture, but also a sign of the times that sociability has declined in recent years. Political events still take place in the inn, but according to landlord Detter, musical events are no longer worthwhile.

Beer and ambience

The beer served here comes from the in-house brewery and is brewed using traditional methods. The brewery has already earned several medals at the European Star Award for its quality. With a cold beer in the beautiful beer garden atmosphere, the Gasthof Weißbräu is a popular place to go for anyone looking for Bavarian cosiness.

The opening hours of the inn are Mondays and Tuesdays from 4 p.m. and Fridays and weekends from 11 a.m. The kitchen remains closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. With such a wide range on offer, everyone should take the opportunity to visit this unique place and treat themselves to a break from everyday life. It is up to us to keep the conviviality and the Bavarian pub culture alive and to preserve it for the next generation.
