Café Märklstetter reopens in Altötting: enjoyment meets tradition!
The popular one Café Märklstetter in Altötting is now open again after being closed for over a year. On November 14, 2025 the time had come: The new owners, Nils Klauß and Alexander Pahlke, were happy to open their doors to the guests. The closure, which took place in 2024, had left many regular customers disappointed, but the reopening saw a renewed focus on tradition.
The two owners applied for the building, which was advertised by the city, and were successful. Their decision to largely retain the facility was well received by visitors. On the opening day, Klauß and Pahlke were only able to receive the permit for the business shortly before the opening, which made the preparations adrenaline-charged.
A new concept with classics
The concept of the café combines traditional German-Bavarian cuisine with international flair. The menu, which will be available soon, promises exciting dishes. Among other things, guests can look forward to three XXL dishes: 500 grams of schnitzel, a large currywurst and the popular Kaiserschmarrn. The prices are also normal, which is an advantage for all guests.
By the way, if you would like more information or to reserve a table, you can call the café on the telephone number +49 8671 8355 or by email cafe-maerklstetter@t-online.de to reach.
There for everyone – even after work
Opening hours are daily from 10 a.m., with hot food available from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is intended to give employees of shops that are open until 8 p.m. the opportunity to enjoy dinner. Andre Hausschild, managing director of the Altöttinger Business Association, was particularly pleased about the reopening of the café. He emphasized how important the operation is for the city center and how it contributes to the revitalization of the city center.
The new owners are optimistic about the future and have already made plans to host events, anniversaries and celebrations in the café. Catering is also offered, which further expands the offering. The café was able to operate without advertising when it first opened - a smart move to test word of mouth and it seems like they've shown a good hand at it.
The Café Märklstetter has taken the hearts of its old and new guests by storm and shows that tradition and new can harmonize wonderfully with each other. Make your way to try the delicacies yourself – the team looks forward to your visit!
