Mozart on the green: Concert at the golf club inspires despite the rainy weather!
On June 4, 2025, the Würzburg Golf Club became the venue for a sold-out concert entitled “Mozart am Grün”. This festive event, which is part of this year's Würzburg Mozart Festival, attracted 250 enthusiastic guests. The overcast clouds and the cold wind couldn't dampen the mood; instead the event took place under the protective roof of the clubhouse in the pavilion. Thanks to the good organization and the appealing program, the evening was a complete success. The president of the Golf Club Würzburg, Bernhard May, and the director of the Mozart Festival, Evelyn Meining, warmly welcomed the guests and acknowledged the excellent cooperation between the Mozart Festival team and those responsible for the golf club.
The event was not only enjoyable but also offered a wide range of musical enjoyment. The Fjarill ensemble presented a successful mix of folk, pop, classical and jazz with their program “Walden”. May and Meining named sport and culture as central aspects that contributed significantly to the positive atmosphere of the evening.
A feast for the senses
The Würzburg Mozart Festival, which is celebrating its 104th year this year, extends from May 23rd to June 22nd, 2025 and includes a wealth of around 90 different concert programs, including symphony concerts and open-air events. This year's offerings are all about the timelessness of Mozart's work, which is constantly being interpreted anew. The festival attracts around 35,000 visitors every year and ensures that the music of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart can be experienced in all its glory.
Special events take place not only in the renowned Kaisersaal of the Würzburg Residence, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also in picturesque wine cellars and breathtaking backdrops such as the Würzburg Cathedral. The concept of making classical music accessible to a broad audience is reinforced by innovative concert formats and an outstanding artistic personality who shapes the festival every year.
A look ahead to the coming years
In view of the successful implementation of “Mozart am Grün” we can look forward to the next edition. Bernhard May explained that the prospect of the 21st “Mozart am Grün” in June 2026 is already arousing a lot of anticipation, especially since this year the tickets were sold out after just a few days. The Würzburg Golf Club and the Mozart Festival have established themselves as strong partners who, together with the golf club's sponsors and a committed team, create a unique atmosphere. Würzburg Golf Club also reports on the high demand, and it remains to be hoped that the upcoming events will be as harmonious and well attended as the concert in 2025.
