Peißenberg revives nightlife: new bar and event location planned!
Something is happening in Peißenberg: a new chapter in nightlife is opening. The musician duo Simon Hett and Daniel Janda, known for their Peißenberg music label “Fade It Records”, have purchased a property at Otto-Hahn-Straße 20. The plan is to convert it into a bar and event location, which will also house a recording studio and a manager's apartment. The market council has already unanimously approved the application for approval for the conversion and expansion, so nothing should stand in the way of the renovation work in February 2026. Until then, the current butcher shop will remain active on site.
What can the citizens of Peißenberg expect in their new nightlife location? On weekends, the dining area becomes a bar with dancing, open Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Special opening times are also planned for special occasions, such as company celebrations or weddings. “The target group has not yet been determined,” says Hett, “but our offer should be interesting for the entire community.” During the week they would like to sublet the space to a catering company to ensure versatile use. The planned recording studio remains spatially separated from the restaurant, which could create a creative atmosphere.
Bergheim Cultural Center – another stone in the mosaic offering
But that's not all that Peißenberg has to offer. There are efforts to realize the “Bergheim Cultural Center”, on which four private individuals are working. The concept is to give the place new impetus and create a cross-generational meeting place for music, art and events. Mayor Frank Zellner (CSU) is enthusiastic about the project and sees the cultural center as an important step for the community. He emphasizes the importance of taking various interests into account when developing the leisure area.
The need is obvious: Peißenberg, with its around 13,000 residents, has great potential for a lively event culture - especially for the young generation. The lack of venues was loudly denounced at recent town hall meetings. Initiators Simon Stögbauer and Stefan Haller, who have experience in the event industry, are relying on attractive indoor and outdoor areas for the “Bergheim”, including a modern beer garden.
Gastronomy is on the rise
All of these developments come at a time when gastronomy in Germany is experiencing a clear upswing, according to Statista. After the difficult years of the corona pandemic, the current figures show that sales in the hospitality industry rose to over 115 billion euros in 2023 - a new record. Gastronomy is an essential economic factor, ranging from classic restaurants to bars and discos. There are more than 32,400 pubs in Germany and demand is still high.
The two projects in Peißenberg - the bar and event location and the cultural center - are part of a larger change towards lively, flexible and cross-generational meeting places. The new operators aim to not only meet the needs of the younger population, but also to appeal to a broader section of society. The course is now set for an exciting nightlife in Peißenberg. This will be an adventure that could certainly become a real highlight in the district, so keep your eyes and ears open!
