variety in the water - also in Moosbach
Already on April 2, 2025, a related exhibition was opened in the town hall of Moosbach under the title "Flowing diversity - the fascinating world of water in the Upper Palatinate". This exhibition, which was accessible by May 9th, exhibited impressive water shots in the region. Here, too, Simon H. had the pleasure of leading through the exhibition, while Mayor Armin Bulenda and Helmut Jahn from the Wasserwirtschaftsamt Weiden were present. The photographs presented reflect not only the scenic, but also the historical diversity of the Upper Palatinate and invite visitors to discover them from new perspectives.
Both exhibitions pursue the same goal: the increase in consciousness for the importance of water, a resource that is often considered for granted, but is of great importance for the environment and our daily life. With regard to the climate change problem, it becomes clear how essential it is to recognize and appreciate the value of the water. This is also supported by initiatives around the world that combine art and environmental awareness.
art as an intermediary
A remarkable initiative in this context is the “Walls of Water” project of the non-profit organization Viva con Agua. In Campala, a murals adorned a girl who gives a cup of water to a crown crane. This art form, which was created by international street artists in cooperation with children, aims to raise awareness of hygiene and the importance of clean water. Such projects illustrate how art acts as a powerful medium to communicate central issues of climate change and the environment.
Barbara Dombrowski, a Hamburg photographer, has been using her art for almost two decades to draw attention to the consequences of climate change. Her works show, among other things, the connection between different regions, for example through portraits of indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest in front of a glacier in Greenland.
The exhibitions in Weiden and Moosbach are not only a shop window for the impressive water world of the Upper Palatinate, but also invite you to a profound examination of a topic that affects us all. It is an opportunity to rethink your own view of water and to re -evaluate its value in our lives. Visit the exhibitions and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of water!
