KLJB Stein collects 850 euros for the Lichtblicke campaign – a strong sign!
In a remarkable campaign, the members of the Catholic Rural Youth Movement (KLJB) Stein collected an impressive donation of 850 euros for the Lichtblicke campaign on October 25, 2025. The day of action, which took place between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., not only brought financial support, but also a lot of joy and a sense of community, as the young people were actively involved in helping their fellow human beings in the church community. They helped rake leaves, washed cars and took on various gardening tasks, all in return for a voluntary donation. This shows once again how important the KLJB's commitment is for the region.
Claudia Grillmeier, the patron of the project, did not miss the opportunity to express her heartfelt thanks to the KLJB members. She emphasized how important such commitment is for families in difficult life situations. The support and solidarity experienced in the community are the cornerstones of strong coexistence.
A strong association with a big heart
The KLJB is not only active in Stein, but also has around 70,000 members across Germany and is one of the largest youth associations in the country. Founded in 1947, the organization is dedicated to the concerns of young people in rural areas. With 1,900 local groups in Germany, the association advocates for a lively and contemporary church and promotes environmentally conscious behavior. The topics that the KLJB deals with are diverse and range from Thanksgiving services to solidarity campaigns to panel discussions with politicians.
The main focus of the KLJB is volunteer work, which makes the numerous activities and projects possible. They are supported by full-time staff who bundle the interests of the local groups at the diocesan level. The organization is also part of an international network that promotes solidarity and sustainable rural development around the globe.
Technology meets commitment
But it's not just in the social area that we're actively working to improve living conditions. Digital engagement is also an important aspect of KLJB, which is why new technologies such as OneDrive's offline mode are integrated into everyday life. While many people rely on a stable internet, this mode ensures more efficiency and productivity, especially with unstable connections. The functionalities include, among other things, access to various areas such as “My Files” or the ability to edit locally stored Office files. This means productivity remains at a high level even without a continuous internet connection.
These developments show that the connection between traditional engagement and modern technologies in rural areas is crucial for the future. In this sense, we can only hope that KLJB Stein will continue to pursue its ideas and projects so convincingly and successfully.
Overall, it is clear: social responsibility and innovative approaches go hand in hand and are the basic building blocks for positive development in our communities. For the KLJB Stein, this day of action was another step in the right direction to work together for a better future.
