Starnberger Landkreis 2025: Ready, set, go in Gilching!
The anticipation for the Starnberger Landkreis is growing: On Saturday, October 11, 2025, the TSV Gilching-Argelsried sports grounds will once again be transformed into a pulsating center for sports enthusiasts of all ages. As sueddeutsche.de reports, this event is the largest mass sports event in the Starnberg district and attracts up to 200 teams every year.
Since it was first held in 1985, the country circuit has developed into a folk festival-like event that not only inspires runners, but also brings families and friends together. TSV Gilching-Argelsried is organizing the event for the third time this time, having already set up its tents in 2000 and 2018.
An experience for everyone
The increasing participation of children and young people is particularly pleasing: almost every fourth team starts in the children's or youth competition. For the little ones there is a “Bambini Run” and a children’s competition on a shortened route. The positive trends also include inclusive participants from workshops for the disabled and guest teams from other regions. A total of 47,740 participants in 5,104 teams took part last year - that's an impressive 200,481 kilometers!, as lk-starnberg.de shows.
The 2024 venue was the idyllic community of Maising, where the Bundeswehr Training Center CIR did a great job in cooperation with the community of Pöcking. The event not only promotes sportsmanship, but also sociability and community - there's something there!
Come over!
Registrations for the land circuit are possible from mid-July, and the routes for the six-person teams will be marked and published in mid-August. If you are looking for more information, you can find it on the official Landkreis Starnberg website.
In times when joint efforts are required both in sport and in society - from dealing with the corona pandemic to the challenges posed by the war in Ukraine - an event like the land cycle is a ray of hope. The federal government supports sports funding with around 2.3 billion euros, which represents an important contribution to the integration and promotion of athletes from different backgrounds, as the current Federal Government Sports Report makes clear.
Be there when the sporting event of the year starts on October 11th and experience first hand the joy and sense of community that define this event. The land circuit is not just a race, but a celebration of encounters and togetherness.
