These dramatic events took place on April 16, 2025, when two men from Baden-Württemberg met a group of Munich rockers in Starnberg. According to the reports of Mercury and the Bavarian police The rockers had no intention of paying, but were planning a robbery. The whole thing ended in a violent confrontation in which a man was shot in the leg and gas was used.
The situation quickly escalated and the drug-related dispute led to a massive police operation. The day after the incident, the two suspects from Baden-Württemberg were caught. A raid followed shortly afterwards, covering eleven properties in Munich, the Berchtesgadener Land district and North Rhine-Westphalia. The Fürstenfeldbruck criminal police, supported by special forces, finally arrested four men between the ages of 30 and 33. While the investigation continues, the searches resulted in the seizure of not only data carriers, but also weapons and banned doping substances.
The drug market in focus
Such incidents underscore the drug-related crime challenges facing Germany, according to a report by Statista shows a worrying increase. About 347,000 drug crime cases were recorded in 2023, a slight increase of two percent compared to the previous year. Cannabis remains the main substance, with around 208,000 cases recorded, even if partial legalization has been in effect since April 2024.
The growing drug crime has not only legal, but also health and social dimensions. According to current statistics, there were around 2,230 drug deaths in Germany in 2023, mostly as a result of long-term damage caused by excessive consumption.
