The Starnberger See, a jewel in the middle of the Bavarian landscape, has a fascinating story that is deeply rooted in the traditions of shipping. For many generations, the ferrymen have been an indispensable part of soul life: they promote beer and other freight goods over the glittering water surface. A look into the past shows that Tutzing and Ammerland were once important locations for beer traffic. Even special bridges were built to conveniently unload the heavy beer barrels. Nowadays, Bavarian Seen shipping offers countless ways to explore the Starnberg See with modern motor ships. The fleet comprises several magnificent ships that can be rented not only for passenger transport, but also for company parties and weddings. Among the most popular is the MS Starnberg from 2004, which, with its 56 meters length and 800 passengers, offers a wonderful view of the lake.
