Robbery in Schwandorf: Prostitute endangers client with knife!

Schwandorf is currently the focus of police work after an attack in an apartment was reported last week. A 28-year-old from Schwandorf ordered a prostitute on Thursday evening and paid 200 euros for it. After paying, an attack occurred when an accomplice of the prostitute kicked in the apartment door and threatened the man with a knife. The attack ended abruptly when the attacker disappeared with the prostitute in a getaway vehicle. Interestingly, the Schwandorf resident managed to take a photo of the getaway vehicle, which was then supposed to help the police pursue the vehicle.

Police intercepted the getaway vehicle a short time later and discovered that the driver tested positive for cocaine. The police also found a drill in the car, which was apparently stolen during a cellar break-in in Berlin last year. Both the prostitute and her driver were temporarily arrested and are now facing several criminal charges. This situation once again highlights the problem of crime in the region and raises questions about the motives of those involved. Upper Palatinate Echo reports that the police have started an investigation.

A look at drug crime in the region

But it's not just this incident that's causing a stir in Schwandorf and the surrounding area. On September 29, 2021, the Regensburg criminal police carried out a large-scale raid in Schwandorf and Regensburg. Twelve apartments were searched and ten suspects aged 17 to 42 were arrested. This measure was part of targeted actions against drug-related crime, not a general collection operation.

Several drugs were also seized during the searches, including three-digit amounts of marijuana, hashish and around 700 tablets of the painkiller buprenorphine. In addition, several cell phones were confiscated. Such actions demonstrate the police's serious approach to combating drug and property crime. Mercury emphasizes that the support from police dogs and special forces from the Bavarian riot police further strengthened the operation.

Overall, the situation in Schwandorf and the surrounding area is tense, and citizens and authorities are faced with the challenge of dealing with the increased crime rates. The latest incidents show that there is a need for action not only in the area of drug-related crime, but also in the area of violent crime. The police will continue to carry out intensive investigations to strengthen citizens' sense of security.
