Miesbergkirwa 2025: Tradition, music and culinary highlights in Schwarzenfeld!
A very special festival is coming up in Schwarzenfeld: the Miesbergkirwa will be celebrated on June 14th and 15th, 2025! The city's residents and visitors from near and far can look forward to a colorful mix of tradition, music and culinary delicacies. The organization is already in full swing to make the festival a complete success.
Tradition and community are very important at the Miesbergkirwa. On Saturday, June 14th, the festival begins at 2:30 p.m. with a festive parade that leads from the fire station in Schwarzenfeld to Miesberg. Led by the Schwarzenfeld music band, the parade will take those present into an atmosphere full of anticipation. The focus of Saturday is the ceremonial setting up of the Kirwa tree, with the community coming together to celebrate this special moment.
Cultural highlights
A highlight is the performance of the D’Miesbergler folk and mountain costume association, which will delight the audience with traditional dances. The raffle of the Kirwa tree after it has been set up offers the festival community the opportunity to win a lasting souvenir of this special day. Guests are also spoiled with culinary delights: regional delicacies and refreshing drinks are available to visitors, so there is something for every taste.
On Sunday it continues at 10 a.m. with a festive pontifical mass in the Trinity Church, which will be led by Bishop Bertram Meier from Augsburg. This contemplative ceremony will add a spiritual touch to the festive setting of the Miesbergkirwa. Afterwards, the colorful festival begins with market stalls that present a variety of culinary offerings, including real Bavarian specialties.
Enjoyment and atmosphere
The Miesbergkirwa innkeepers have put together a wide range of offerings to satisfy the hunger of festival visitors. The Schwarzenfeld motorcycle friends serve Rötzer beer, while the Miesberg restaurant serves a barrel of Augustiner as well as juicy burgers and fries. The Herzwerk project is also represented with delicious bratwursts, steaks and Obatzda. And for those with a sweet tooth, Tommy’s Mutzbraten serves the popular Mutzbraten and Bratwursts. The Schwarzenfeld Ski Club provides a sweet ending with coffee and cake.
Since large festivals such as the Miesbergkirwa are expected to attract large numbers of visitors, road closures will be set up on Hauptstrasse, Nabburger Strasse, Bergstrasse and Obere Ringstrasse on Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and all day on Sunday. This should be planned in good time because the anticipation of a successful celebration is palpable!
The Miesbergkirwa is not only a celebration for the local participants, but also attracts numerous tourists who want to experience Bavarian culture and hospitality. And so it's worth planning early and paying attention to the special offers and perhaps even reservations that are often required at large festivals, such as the Oktoberfest in Munich. So let’s look forward to a weekend full of music, dancing and culinary delights!
