A6 crash near Schwabach: Two injured after rear-end collision!

On Friday, August 8th, a traffic accident occurred on the A6 between the Neuendettelsau and Schwabach-West junctions, which slightly injured two young people. According to a report by the Nuremberg News The Feucht traffic police reported a classic rear-end collision around 5:30 p.m. in which the 21-year-old driver hit a vehicle that was braking due to traffic while changing from the right to the left lane.

Fortunately, both injured people were able to continue their journey after the accident was recorded. The passenger, 22 years old, and her driver sought medical treatment on their own. The material damage is estimated at around 11,000 euros.

Further accidents on the A6

In another tragic twist, the reported Bavarian police from a previous accident on July 4, 2025, in which a 60-year-old driver of a light truck died at the scene. In this case, the small truck hit a stationary tractor-trailer at the end of the traffic jam. The impact was so severe that the truck's cab was severely deformed. During the rescue work, the motorway in the direction of Heilbronn was completely closed.

Rescue workers on site, including around 40 firefighters and various media from the rescue service and the technical relief agency, were only able to rescue the driver dead. Other road users who were stuck in traffic were also looked after by the emergency services during the full closure.

Attentive road users

The emergency services were quickly on the scene in both accidents. The Feucht traffic police inspection has started investigating the cause of the accident in the case of the fatal accident, while the accident on August 8th was less serious. Such incidents urge caution on the roads because you never know when an unexpected traffic jam or sudden braking situation can make the highway as unpredictable as we have seen in these cases.

The short-term scare in connection with the injured drivers illustrates the need to always be vigilant and keep the distance from the vehicles in front. It is to be hoped that such incidents will soon be a thing of the past and we can all travel more safely.
