Bull escaped: Fire brigade hunts million fattening cattle in Bad Birnbach!
In the community of Bad Birnbach, more precisely in Lengham, an unexpected fire and police operation caused a stir on Monday. A bull had escaped and taken off, leading to an hour-long search. As the Passauer Neue Presse According to reports, the incident happened when the bull was about to be unloaded at the farm for slaughter. Unnoticed, he used a gap in the barrier and left the butcher shop.
The bull ran from Bad Birnbach to Lengham and finally came to a stop on a forest path just before Naßberg. The emergency services were quickly on site and also used a drone to locate the 600 kilogram animal. Motorists were warned via the traffic portal Bayerninfo to drive carefully as the B388 was nearby.
A happy ending
After about an hour, the emergency services managed to find the escaped bull and, with the help of a veterinarian, anesthetize it. The animal owner was informed and was finally able to load the uninjured bull into a trailer and take it home again. The danger posed by the bull was quickly averted.
Compared to a more recent incident in Styria, where an escaped bull also caused chaos, the operation in Bad Birnbach went more smoothly. In Pöllau, a bull that was wandering on a state road was shot by a hunter after injuring firefighters and damaging a patrol car. During the incident in Burgenland, the fire brigade and police were deployed with more than 25 men and five vehicles, which clearly shows that the situation in Lengham remained comparatively calm and manageable. The operation in Pöllau led to a large closure of the L 406 and showed the challenges associated with such operations.
All in all, the situation in Bad Birnbach developed well, and thanks to the efforts of the fire department and police, the bull was soon returned to its owner's hands.
