Vascular day in Eggenfelden: Everything about carotid stenosis and more!

What's going on in Eggenfelden? On Saturday, November 15th, the Rottal-Inn Clinic invites everyone interested to an exciting vascular day under the motto “Understanding vascular diseases – focus on carotid stenosis”. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can obtain interesting information about blood vessel diseases that can lead to serious consequences such as strokes in the clinic's foyer and multifunctional room. Chief physician Matthias Wiesner and his team will aim to raise awareness of the often overlooked carotid stenosis and provide information about appropriate treatment options.

As part of the event, visitors can look forward to a variety of stands in the foyer. Among other things, modern treatment options for chronic wounds are presented here, which are also explained by a wound manager. There are also valuable tips on heart-healthy nutrition through nutritional advice and information on therapeutic and nursing measures after a stroke, which are provided by the Stroke Unit.

Specialist lectures and guided tours

A highlight of the day are the specialist lectures, which begin at 9.30 a.m. in the multifunctional room. Experts like Prof. Dr. Christian Gleißner will speak about the development and risk factors of arteriosclerosis as well as modern diagnostics. Further lectures, including from Dr. Monika Sozanski-Cergan and Silvia Glasl, discuss the need for surgery and preventative measures. A comprehensive picture of this topic allows a tour of the angiography facility, which is offered at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Here, visitors can experience first hand how modern imaging works and how an examination works.

Entry to this informative day is free and registration is not required. The offer is aimed at anyone interested in the health of their blood vessels and offers a great opportunity to exchange ideas about prevention and treatment. Practical education is the first step in preventing strokes, which are often associated with carotid stenosis.

The importance of rehabilitation

In addition to providing information about vascular diseases, rehabilitation after a stroke is also extremely important. This focuses on regaining independence and improving quality of life. Rehabilitative treatment can be carried out using different approaches: be it in inpatient rehabilitation centers, in outpatient clinics or even at home. Each care and treatment concept is individually tailored to the needs of the patient and should generally be continued for years.

A dedicated team of professionals, including doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, support patients on their road to recovery. The focus is on relearning everyday tasks as well as improving mobility, communication and cognition. Emotional support for patients and their families is also part of a successful rehabilitation process. These topics will also be addressed as part of the vessel day, so that visitors have the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information.

We are looking forward to numerous visitors on November 15th at the Rottal-Inn Clinic. Let's raise awareness of our vessels together!
