Rosenheim is planning the future: ISEK is entering the decisive phase!

A lot is happening in Rosenheim: On December 2, 2025, the city council approved the Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK). This is an important step towards future-oriented urban design. Over 900 citizen suggestions and an impressive volume of around 400 pages of documentation played a central role in developing the concept. Mayor Andreas März emphasized how important the ISEK is for the redesign of the land use plan.

The ISEK is intended as a long-term control instrument that extends until 2040. Even if it is legally non-binding, the results of the ISEK will be incorporated into the new development of the land use plan. The long-term view is also important: the entire city area is part of the observation area, which was determined in coordination with the government of Upper Bavaria. This is not just about individual measures, but about a comprehensive planning strategy for the entire urban development.

Citizen participation is very important

The contents of the ISEK were not developed in secret. Rather, four themed weeks, digital formats and workshops took place in which citizens were actively involved. This commitment is also reflected on the wirmachenrosenheim.de platform, where the results and suggestions can be viewed. Mayor March will also offer the opportunity to exchange ideas with citizens after the final presentation on January 14, 2026 at 6 p.m. in the Ballhaus Rosenheim. Here, curious citizens can pass on their suggestions directly to the planners and direction of the ISEK.

Experts support this process by providing valuable information and ensuring that the needs of the city and its residents are the focus. The specialist concepts on “landscape and open space” and “environment-climate-climate change” should not be neglected. These provide a sound foundation for nature-friendly and climate-conscious urban development.

A look into the future

In the future, the ISEK will serve as a prerequisite for applying for urban development funding. This could help Rosenheim secure the financial resources needed to put the planned measures into practice. So anyone interested in the city's development should keep an eye on the final event. Here the city not only addresses its citizens, but also addresses concerns and suggestions in order to actively shape the coming years.

Rosenheim is on a promising path, and it remains to be seen what impulses the ISEK will bring to the city. The coming months and the upcoming discussions promise exciting developments.
