Pfaffenhofen: Zero new infections and stable intensive care situation!

The Corona situation in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district is currently positive. There were no new infections on June 11, 2025 compared to the previous day. The 7-day incidence is 0.0 per 100,000 inhabitants, making the region a reassuring example within Bavaria. A total of 68,168 people have tested positive since the start of the pandemic [news.de].

There are currently 6 of 8 intensive care beds in the county in use, but there are no COVID patients in the intensive care unit. A welcome relief during the worst times of the pandemic!

Vaccination rate and corona statistics in Bavaria

While the numbers in Pfaffenhofen appear to be stable, a look at the overall picture in Bavaria sheds a different light. In the Free State, 28 new infections were recorded on the same day and a 7-day incidence of 1.0 per 100,000 inhabitants. The total number of people who tested positive has now exceeded 6.87 million. The 35 to 59 year old age group is particularly affected, with over 2.6 million cases, as corona-in-zahlen.de shows.

A look at the vaccination rate in Germany shows that 76.3 percent of the population has basic immunization. 77.9 percent of the population have received at least one vaccination. These numbers are from April 8, 2023 and are a sign that the vaccination campaign has been largely successful, emphasizes Statista.

New Corona variant Nimbus

Another item on the agenda is the new Corona variant Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), which has been classified as a “variant under observation” by the World Health Organization since its discovery in January 2025. So far, however, there is no evidence of more serious courses of the disease, which should be a reason for reassurance for many.

Close communication and constant updates on the development of the pandemic remain essential. Despite the encouraging figures, there is no reason to give the all-clear. The data, which is prepared daily, shows that the situation remains dynamic and is subject to change at any time.

Some of the people in Bavaria have already had a long journey, but the current relaxation and the progress in the vaccination campaign offer hope for the coming period. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop, but the measures taken so far appear to be bearing fruit.
