The Left calls for social housing: city council list in Pfaffenhofen!
In a groundbreaking decision, “The Left” is running for the first time with its own city council list in the local elections in Pfaffenhofen. This event, which took center stage last Saturday with the nomination of candidates, shows the party's desire to bring a breath of fresh air into local politics. The focus is clearly on social housing and the issue of rents, which concerns people in the city. The list particularly emphasizes the importance of linking building law to social balance in order to meet the challenges of the housing market.
The list is headed by Silvia Gerlsbeck Premet (42), a cultural scientist, and Tobias Schmidt (38), a caretaker. Together with 11 other candidates, including social workers, engineers and artists, they have decided to treat housing as a fundamental right. “People’s concerns about rising rents and a lack of living space are unmistakable,” says Gerlsbeck Premet. Schmidt adds that it is time to establish clear rules for rent indexes and create more social housing.
Focus on election campaign issues
A central concern of “Die Linke” is the strengthening of regional cycles and the commitment to renewable energies. These topics can also be found in the adopted election program, which has a clear social focus. Particularly during the election campaign, the focus is on affordable housing and the fight against the shift to the right in society. “We have to work together for a society that leaves no one behind,” emphasizes Schmidt.

The commitment to adapted building law conditions that do not lose sight of the social aspect is very much at the center of the election program. Concern about rising rents and combating legal pressure are seen as an essential task. “We want to send a very clear signal with this list and represent the voices of those who are often not able to make their voices heard,” said the determined Gerlsbeck Premet.
With all of these measures, “The Left” wants to open a new chapter in Pfaffenhofen and actively help shape the political framework for citizens. The upcoming elections offer an excellent opportunity to realize precisely these visions.
