Gala concert in Marktoberdorf: Voices of the future in Modeon!

The big gala concert is just around the corner and promises to be a musical highlight! On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., the Modeon in Marktoberdorf will open its doors for an exciting evening. The Ostallgäu District Blasorchester (KBO) and the Lucerne Youth Blasorchester (JBL) allow listeners to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of brass music. How Allgaeuer Zeitung reports that both classical works and exciting modern compositions are on the program.

The JBL is considered one of the most renowned youth orchestras in Switzerland and won first prize at the Swiss Youth Music Festival in St. Gallen in 2023. Under the musical direction of Sandro Blank, who was born in 1986 and has already received awards, the young musicians will perform, among other things, “Time for Outrage!” by Marco Pütz and the “Wine Dark Sea – Symphony for Band” by John Mackey. These pieces are divided into several parts and will certainly ensure a varied concert evening.

A look at the programs

The KBO will also show its skills and will offer acoustic highlights under the direction of Stefan Reggel. The program includes, among others, “Raise of the Son” by Rossano Galante, “Spartacus” by Jan van der Roost, and the popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” soundtrack by Klaus Badelt. The combination of these works will give viewers a special sound experience.

Stefan Reggel has been running the KBO since he was 20 years old and was awarded the district's Medal of Honor for his services to the Ostallgäu cultural landscape. He now brings this many years of experience into rehearsals and concert preparations, which ensures the KBO receives a lot of positive feedback.
