Fire departments in the Nuremberg region: 30 missions over the holidays!

In the happy days around Christmas, the fire brigades and rescue services in the Nuremberg region did not stand still. Over the holidays they counted around 30 missions, covering a wide range of emergencies. These included helicopter landings and an outdoor fire, among other things NN reports.

The missions on December 25th and 26th particularly kept the volunteers busy. On the first public holiday, for example, the Altdorf fire department was called upon several times, including a fire in a chimney in Burgthann. One of the notable missions was a helicopter landing in Hersbruck on December 26th. Such operations are not an everyday occurrence, but the fire department is always ready to respond quickly.

The challenging operations these days are a good example of how important the work of the fire department is. The commitment of the volunteer fire brigades is very important, not only in the Nuremberg region, but throughout Germany. Loud Statista At the end of 2022, the volunteer fire departments made up the largest part of the total of around 48,100 fire departments in Germany, with over a million members.

The main tasks of the fire department are clearly defined: rescue, extinguish, recover and protect. In 2022, there were around 2.8 million missions in Germany due to emergencies or illnesses. The number impressively shows how strongly the fire department is integrated into society, especially in times when the risk of false alarms increases.

The Christmas season not only brings joy, but also challenges for the emergency services. Despite the high number of deployments, the firefighters' motivation remains unbroken. They are there when the community needs them, and we are grateful for that.
