Students discover technology at Bauer AG: An exciting project day!
On June 12, 2025, the eighth grade students at the Michael Sommer Middle School in Schrobenhausen had an exciting project day that gave them deeper insights into technical career fields. The boys and girls visited the Bauer AG factory in Aresing, where they were welcomed by specialists and were able to immerse themselves directly in the world of technology. Equipped with protective clothing, the young people went to various practical workshops where they were able to get hands-on.
At the beginning of the day the mechanics workshop was on the agenda. Here the students had the task of installing a pump on a motor. They not only learned how to use various tools, but were also able to demonstrate their skills in practice. But that wasn't all: the second workshop dealt with electronics. Here, the students analyzed a wiring harness with modern measuring devices under supervision, which offered exciting insights into the world of electronics.
Experience on real machines
Another highlight of the day was the opportunity to operate a real drilling rig at the Bauer AG test site. First, the young people were allowed to practice on a simulator before they were finally able to take the machine horn into their own hands. These experiences not only offered the students a welcome change from everyday school life, but also the chance to discover their own talents and interests, as they already did Danube Courier reported.
In exchange with the employees of Bauer AG, the students also received information about training opportunities and a wide range of career prospects. If you want to aim high, you could find your dream job here. Among the new trainees who started their training at Bauer AG on September 2, 2023, there are four apprentices in the new training occupation of agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics engineer. Almost all training positions have now been filled, which shows the popularity of the company among young people. The first days of the new trainees were a colorful program of getting-to-know-you games, information lectures and practical experience with drilling rigs, according to information from Bauer.de.
Internships as a springboard
A student internship, like the one the young people at Michael Sommer Middle School experienced, is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in various professions. Whether in workshops, hospitals or large companies – the variety of possible internship locations is huge. Professions in crafts, media and healthcare are particularly popular. But technical professions such as mechatronics technicians or physics laboratory technicians are also in great demand among young people, as shown training.de is to be read.
A good internship should not only provide insight, but also provide the opportunity for active participation. This includes varied tasks and an open-minded team that is available to answer questions. All of this came into play at the project day at Bauer AG and not only gave the students an insight into the technical professional world, but also the chance to clarify their own interests and gain valuable experience.
