Cyclist in danger of death after accident on state road!

On the night of July 22, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident on state road 2214 behind Ammerfeld in the municipality of Rennertshofen, Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district. A 66-year-old driver wanted to overtake a 50-year-old cyclist when the serious incident occurred. The driver moved into the left lane, but the cyclist suddenly turned left. To avoid a collision, the driver swerved into a driveway, but was unable to avoid the collision. The cyclist was thrown against the windshield in the impact and remained seriously injured on the road. As Die Zeit reports, she suffered life-threatening injuries and was then flown in a rescue helicopter to the Ingolstadt Clinic, where her condition is currently critical.

But this accident was not the only serious incident in the region. Even within Middle Franconia, just two days earlier, on July 19, 2025, two serious accidents were reported within a few hours. The first occurred at 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of Weidenbacher Strasse and State Road 2411. Here, a 16-year-old cyclist wanted to cross the street, but overlooked a 56-year-old car driver who hit her. She sustained serious but not life-threatening head injuries and had to be transported to Nuremberg Hospital in a rescue helicopter. The total damage was around 3150 euros for the car and the bike.

Second incident involving a motorcyclist

The second accident in Middle Franconia occurred around 10 p.m. on the B13 between Oberdachstetten and Lehrberg. Here an 18-year-old motorcyclist and a 20-year-old cyclist drove illegally into a closed construction site area. During this risky action, the motorcyclist overlooked a pile of gravel and fell. She, too, had to be transported to the Ansbach Clinic with significant injuries after initial treatment on site, which caused material damage to the motorcycle amounting to around 4,000 euros.

These incidents once again illustrate how important road safety is. Life-threatening situations can quickly arise, especially for cyclists and motorcyclists, if drivers do not exercise the necessary vigilance. Hopes now lie in the speedy recovery of the injured women as police authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances in both cases.

For the families affected, such accidents are a shocking experience that remains in their memories. Road safety should therefore always be a priority to prevent such tragedies in the future. This is certainly what everyone involved wants, because ultimately every action on the road is important.

The events were covered by various news portals such as Time and Northern Bavaria documented in detail, which underlines the urgency of the issue.
