Maren Polke-Lanzl: Strong as a candidate for mayor in Karlskron!
In Karlskron, we recommend taking a look at the upcoming local elections on March 8, 2026. To the surprise of many, the voters' group Compact-List Karlskron (CLK) has nominated its top candidate: Maren Polke-Lanzl is being sent into the race as mayoral candidate. At the nomination meeting, the 57-year-old, who has lived in Karlskron for many years and originally comes from Heide in Holstein, received an impressive 100 percent of the votes. This could make her a serious challenge for the incumbent mayor Stefan Kumpf from the CSU, as [Donaukurier] reports.
Maren Polke-Lanzl is not only a new voice in politics, but also an active citizen. She worked as a school helper and was active in the medical service. Her vision for Karlskron is clear: she wants to make the community attractive, sustainable and more livable. Her political priorities include the expansion of affordable housing, the development of commercial space and the promotion of sustainable municipal infrastructure. She is particularly interested in public transport, where she would like to maintain the Flexibus service and improve connections to the surrounding area.
Municipal council list and candidates
The CLK has also drawn up its list for the local council elections. This reflects a broad mix of society, with 19 candidates for a total of 20 seats. The list is headed by Maren Polke-Lanzl, followed by well-known faces such as Gerhard Hagl and Christine Froschmeir, both of whom are already represented on the current local council. The youngest candidate is only 18 years old, which shows that young people are also included in the political process.

The nomination list was unanimously confirmed, and the CLK is planning the “CLK on Tour” campaign for the end of January to present its candidates in person. It seems as if Karlskron can expect an exciting election campaign that also wants to appeal to the youngest voters.
Commitment and activities of the CLK
The CLK is not only politically active, but also in the creative field. As part of the 2024 holiday pass campaign, a bus shelter in Brautlach was beautified by children, while a transformer cabin on Lessingstrasse was recently painted with a picture of the “Little Mole” (Krtek). These actions underline CLK's commitment to the community and the beautiful, colorful everyday life in Karlskron.
In addition, the CLK is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Founded by Christa Froschmeir and Andreas Kellner, the group looks back on a successful time in which it was not only active in politics, but also in the design of public space. The creative expression shows that the community also takes these aspects to heart.
It remains exciting to see how political and creative endeavors develop in Karlskron. With a strong team of candidates and a clear vision for the future, Maren Polke-Lanzl could definitely set new trends.
