Inclusion Awards 2026: Diversity wanted for a strong future!
The Miltenberg district office has exciting news for everyone who is committed to the inclusion movement in Lower Franconia. This year the Lower Franconian Inclusion Awards are being announced again, for the twelfth time in the history of this important award. The motto “Where diversity lives, the future grows” already shows that this is about more than just prestigious award ceremonies. It's about strengthening projects that actively promote the inclusion and participation of people with disabilities. Miltenberg district reports that the prizes are awarded in different categories: education and upbringing, work, living, leisure and sport as well as culture, nature and environment.
A total of 12,500 euros in prize money is available, with each of the five categories being endowed with 2,500 euros. This money is intended to support people, projects and initiatives that are particularly committed to inclusion. Anyone who would like to take part in the process should not hesitate: applications are now possible and can be submitted by Friday, May 15, 2026 at the latest. Further information can be found on the district website.
Application and participation
The application process couldn't be easier. Those interested can send their documents to the Lower Franconia district either by post or email. The postal address is: District of Lower Franconia, Lower Franconian Inclusion Awards, Silcherstraße 5, 97074 Würzburg, and the email is inklusion@bezirk-unterfranken.de.
The current call for proposals is particularly important because it brings guests and participants together and thus initiates a dialogue on the topic of inclusion and participation. The discourse around inclusion has increasingly changed in recent years bpb.de emphasizes: It is no longer just about those affected, but about an entire society that is opening up and breaking down barriers.
Inclusion in society
Inclusion can be seen as the way in which a society includes all people and excludes no one. In fact, the term “inclusion” is not clearly defined, but it includes the equal participation of all people, as mentioned in the digital dictionary. There are still social and institutional barriers that need to be broken down. The importance of preventive measures is particularly evident in the education system: the path from exclusion to inclusion is a process that is still in full swing.
The Lower Franconian Inclusion Awards are therefore not only an award for good initiatives, but also a sign of the continuous change and acceptance of diversity in our society. By connecting people who are committed to these issues, the award ceremony helps to advance the inclusion movement and create greater awareness of the social participation of people with disabilities.
The application phase is now open - so show your commitment to an inclusive society! Send in your ideas and projects and help ensure that diversity is experienced even more in Lower Franconia.
