Originally, a monthly fee of 25 euros was to be charged for care on Fridays, which some city council members questioned. Franz Mayer (CSU) therefore suggested abolishing these fees completely, as the Free State is expected to cover the costs in full in 2026/27. While treasurer Josef Schäffler pointed out the subsidies for socially disadvantaged families, Hedwig Schmid (SPD) expressed criticism of the high costs for holiday care, which were initially supposed to be 25 euros per day.

Florian Ruml (FL) said that the Friday fee should perhaps be left in order to reduce the costs of holiday care. After intensive debates, the city council finally decided with 17 votes to 4 that the city would cover the OGTS's costs for Friday care. In addition, holiday care fees have been reduced to 15 euros per day, which is positive news for many parents.
