There is also a 50-meter sports pool, a non-swimmer pool as well as slides and leisure fields in the outdoor pool. Of course, it's not just about swimming, but also about having fun!

Financing and sustainability

Financially, the combination pool is also a project that could make waves. The estimated construction costs amount to around 43 million euros, with funding of around 3.2 million euros and 500,000 euros from the KfW program already guaranteed. For the city, this means an annual subsidy of 2 million euros over the next six years to support the project. Sustainable construction is also not neglected: the building will be constructed using passive house construction and will be operated in a highly energy-efficient manner using heat pumps and a photovoltaic system. A CO2-neutral heat supply is the goal in which natural groundwater is integrated into the planning, which is extremely important for climate neutrality.

It remains to be seen whether flood damage caused by heavy rainfall in June 2024, which will cost an estimated 160,000 euros, will affect the completion date.
