Home triple for EV Landshut: pure spectacle and excitement!
An exciting ice hockey weekend is coming up for the Landshut ice hockey club (EVL)! The home treble begins on Friday, January 19th at 7:30 p.m. with a duel against Düsseldorfer EG. The clash with the Eispiren Crimmitschau follows on Sunday at 5:00 p.m., before the Bietigheim Steelers visit Landshut on Tuesday, January 24th. Despite a short dry spell, the team is looking forward to the upcoming games with great anticipation. After four defeats in a row, the Landshut team were finally able to celebrate their first win of the new year with a 5-4 win against Weiden last Sunday. The EVL is currently in fourth place in the table with 54 points.
Speaking of the table: Participation in the playoffs is particularly important for the DEL2 teams this season. In the 13th season of the DEL2, exciting matches are expected until the end of the season on March 8, 2026. The first ten teams qualify for the playoffs, which means that every point counts. The master can even advance to the DEL if a license is applied for. The current table shows how the teams have performed so far:
| Place | team | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Krefeld penguins | 36 |
| 2 | EV Landshut | 35 |
| 3 | EC Kassel Huskies | 35 |
| 4 | Starbulls Rosenheim | 32 |
| 5 | Düsseldorfer EG (A) | 30 |
The opponents in focus
The past has shown that Düsseldorfer EG, who were relegated from the DEL, should not be underestimated. New coach Harry Lange is aiming for the team to return to the first league. After a narrow defeat against Krefeld recently, the team will fight for points and will definitely not underestimate the EVL. The Ice Pirates Crimmitschau will also pose a challenge. With their top scorer Corey Mackin, who has already scored 14 goals and 27 assists, and an excellent fair play rating of just 6.5 penalty minutes per game, they are a dangerous opponent. Mackin emphasized in an interview that despite the injuries, the team's solidarity is strong and they will work hard until the playoffs.
The Bietigheim Steelers, on the other hand, are in the bottom third of the table. With over 11 penalty minutes per game, they have a negative value, which doesn't necessarily increase the chances of a turnaround in these games. Experienced Tyler McKneely, on the other hand, shines with over 497 scorer points and can provide a breath of fresh air at any time.
Staff news and ticket info
As far as personnel are concerned, the EVL unfortunately has to do without Andreas “Blacky” Schwarz and Finn Serikow, both of whom are injured. In addition, Oliver Stümpel and Tobi Fischer are unavailable due to illness. The fate of their teammates Simon Seidl and Tobi Schwarz also depends on their health. Despite these challenges, the team keeps their heads high and remains optimistic.
Fans can look forward to an exciting weekend! Tickets are available as usual in the ticket shop www.evl.info available, and all games are broadcast live www.sporteurope.tv transmitted. Take advantage of the opportunity that Landshut support deserves!
