Schützenhaus in Kronach: A breath of fresh air through female power!
Kronach can be happy! The traditional Schützenhaus now has a new boss: Annika Neubauer from the event agency “Mei.Event” has taken over the reins to bring a breath of fresh air and creative ideas to the popular restaurant business. The news creates a sense of optimism in the region, because Neubauer not only brings fresh impetus, but also a clear vision of how she wants to further develop the catering business. “With fresh ideas, we want to make the Schützenhaus a meeting place for everyone again,” she says.
The already experienced operations manager, Sabine Weiß, is enthusiastic about the support of the new boss. Together they do everything they can to offer guests a warm and inviting ambience. A Christmas atmosphere was created in the inn: silver decorative balls, pine cones and tea lights give the place a festive glow. Guests are also surrounded by a pleasant scent of freshly brewed coffee and delicious pastries, inviting them to linger.
Women in the catering industry
Neubauer is part of a larger trend that is emerging in the restaurant industry. While 322 restaurants in Germany have been awarded Michelin stars, only 14 are run by female chefs. This low proportion of women is a sign of the challenges that many women in the catering sector still have to overcome, as shown, among other things, by the appointment of Madame Eugénie Brazier, the first person to receive six Michelin stars. The image of star cuisine still struggles with old role models and the compatibility of work and family, as the Stuttgarter Zeitung reports.
Another bright spot is the “Women in Gastronomy” event, which will take place on May 5th in Stuttgart. The aim of this event is to provide a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities for women in the industry. The initiators of the event emphasize that role models are crucial to motivating young women in the industry. Chefs like Sarah Hallmann, who offers a four-day week for her team, are already making their mark in the world of gastronomy.
The way forward
With the takeover of the Schützenhaus by Annika Neubauer, not only is a gastronomic business re-inspired, but it is also setting an example. Future developments will determine how not only the Schützenhaus, but also the role of women in gastronomy will continue to develop. It will be exciting to see what ideas and concepts will come out of Kronach in the coming months.
So stop by and experience what the new management has in store for you. The Schützenhaus has definitely decided to become the heart of the Kronach gastronomy landscape again.
