Jazz and help: Kiwanis delights Kronach with a morning pint for children!
Last Sunday, July 16, 2025, an extraordinary jazz breakfast took place on Marienplatz in Kronach, organized by the Kiwanis Club Kronach-Frankenwald. This event, which attracted both young and old, was not only a musical highlight, but also an outstanding example of volunteer commitment and support for social projects. The jazz band “Coburger JazzCollegen” created a stirring atmosphere with lively sounds that invited guests to linger. The Franconian Day reports that the event was well attended and excellently organized.
The proceeds from the sale of white sausages, cakes, coffee and other delicacies go to projects that benefit children and young people in the region. In his welcoming remarks, President Heiner Schneider emphasized the importance of the event for the community and social cohesion. What was particularly gratifying was the recruitment of women into the Kiwanis organization, which Schneider proudly highlighted as a step forward, especially Vice President Katja Wich, who was actively involved in the planning and implementation of the event.
Insights into the club's internal work
The Kiwanis Club Kronach-Frankenwald, which operates under the motto “Serving the Children of the World”, is particularly committed to regional support projects. In addition to the jazz breakfast, there are also numerous other activities on the program. On the official Kiwanis website It becomes clear that the members also take part in the Mitwitz Christmas market on the first weekend of Advent, where they sell mulled wine, homemade cookies and gingerbread for charity.
Heiner Schneider, who was reintroduced as president this year, announced a varied program for the year. This happened as part of a festive presidential dinner in the “Galerie an der Rodach” with around 40 people present, at which he also thanked his predecessor Dirk Hubbert for his work. Under Hubbert's leadership, four new members were gained, which will promote the further development of the club. Katja Wich, who helped realize the new gallery as business and building authority manager, will support event management and expand her involvement as vice president.
A thank you to the community
Mayor Angela Hofmann expressed her appreciation for the work of the Kiwanis Club and particularly highlighted the Rosenberg Festival children's project, which was launched ten years ago. The long-standing support for social projects and the passion with which the members work make the Kiwanis Club an important institution in the region.
This special combination of jazz, conviviality and social commitment shows that the community lives in Kronach and that the next events are being prepared with a lot of enthusiasm. Ultimately, the Kiwanis Club relies on its members and their energy to offer a positive perspective, especially to young people.
