Serious truck accident: driver trapped, bull stays calm!
Early on Monday afternoon, more precisely on July 3, 2025, a serious truck accident occurred on Weicheringer Straße in the Zuchering district, which posed a challenge for both the driver and the emergency services deployed. The 73-year-old truck driver was carrying an impressive bull weighing 900 kilograms when he left the road for unknown reasons. The truck fell about two meters down the embankment and collided with a tree, causing massive front damage.

Immediately after the accident, the Zuchering fire department and the Ingolstadt professional fire department made their way to the scene of the accident. The situation was secured and technical rescue was initiated with around 60 firefighters and nine vehicles.
Elaborate rescue operation
Rescuing the driver turned out to be extremely challenging. Due to the tilted position of the truck, special technical equipment was necessary to be able to carry out the rescue. After about 30 minutes, emergency services managed to free the driver and give him first aid before he was taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, the bull remained unusually calm. A veterinarian was called in to check the animal's condition. Fortunately, no injuries were found and the bull was safely transferred to a wildlife trailer. The transport then continued so that the animal transport was not further affected, while the fire brigade continued to secure the accident site.
Weicheringer Straße had to be closed until the evening hours, which led to traffic disruptions. According to the Northern Bavaria A towing service was also on site to recover the accident truck.
