Building bridges with music: Concert for refugees on Sunday in Olching!

On Sunday, June 29th, the 3klang music school in Olching invites you to a special concert experience. From 11 a.m. there will be a captivating matinee in the Gretl Bauer Hall of the Kulturwerkstatt am Olchinger Mühlbach that covers both musical delights and profound social issues. The concert will be led by the talented cellist Hanna Shcherbyna from Ukraine and violinist Penelope Spencer from New Zealand. Their performances promise an exciting mix of baroque music, sound effects, poetry, meditation and philosophical reflections.

The event program highlights current social issues such as war and migration as well as the associated multicultural society. A central concern of the artists is to discuss with the audience questions about how real interaction and acceptance can be achieved without losing oneself in the process. Admission to this special event is free, donations are desired to continue supporting the cultural work, as sueddeutsche.de reports.

Cultural diversity in Olching

Of course, the 3klang music school doesn't just offer Olchingers concerts. Another highlight in the 2025 event calendar is the yodeling workshop with the Allgäu singer and yodeler Hedwig Roth. On Saturday, September 27th, anyone interested can discover the unique sound of yodeling from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the KOM in Olching, Hauptstraße 68 R. The participation fee is 90 euros, reduced for schoolchildren, students and volunteer card holders 65 euros. The motto here is: “Be your tone” – a call to self-knowledge about your own sound.

Hedwig Roth, who has been active as a solo yodeler since 2003, will help participants get to know their voice and explore new areas of sound. Anyone interested can register directly with 3klang gGmbH on Tel. 08142 / 410036 or by email to olching@3klang-musik.de, as can be found on 3klang-musik.de.

Promoting cultural diversity through MIGRAKULT

Another important player in promoting multiculturalism in the region is MIGRAKULT. This organization is committed to intensive cultural exchange between people of different origins. In addition to concerts and readings, MIGRAKULT is involved in organizing cultural groups and courses, including memory training and literature circles.

Last but not least, MIGRAKULT owes its commitment to the numerous donations and contributions from participants. Your project “Culture makes you creative” to support children and young people shows how important cultural education is, especially for those who cannot afford music lessons.

Such events and initiatives not only promote an active cultural life in Olching, but also build bridges between different cultures. The exchange of ideas and experiences is essential for the community to grow together and these offers contribute to this. Visit the concert or the yodeling workshop - it's worth being part of this lively and diverse cultural scene.
