Freising's young talent shines: Dominik Reisch is Bavarian champion!

On June 16, 2025 the time had finally come: the Bavarian Block Championships in Pfaffenhofen attracted athletes from all over the region and the young athletes from Freising particularly stood out. Dominik Reisch from LC Freising won the title in the block run in the M14 age group with an impressive 2585 points. Reisch not only showed talent, but also impressive fighting spirit after falling during the warm-up.

Nevertheless, he was not deterred and won the 80-meter hurdles in a strong 12.29 seconds. He also set an example in the 100 meter run by improving his personal best time to 12.40 seconds - only Marlon Pabst was faster. In addition, Reisch showed what he was made of in the long jump and achieved the best long jump of the entire field with 5.31 meters.

Personal bests and comeback

Reisch's success was all the more remarkable because he also shone in the 2000 meter run. With a time of 6:47.91 minutes, he beat his previous record by over 20 seconds and thus secured second place in the German best list in his age group. Moritz Reger, who is also for the LC Freising started, celebrated his comeback after a year-long injury break. He came sixth in the sprint/jump block with 2,317 points and ran the 100 meters in a personal record time of 12.97 seconds.

Reger also showed perseverance and jumped an excellent 1.52 meters in the high jump with sneakers, which earned him third place. He also attracted attention in the javelin throw with 23.41 meters, placing him in the top ten. Coach Gaby Hagl was visibly proud of the achievements of her protégés, who triumphed both athletically and personally.

A successful year for the Freising athletes

The athletes' successes are not alone. The third part of the Freising running series, the Uferloslauf, took place on May 29th under optimal conditions in the idyllic Isar meadows. Despite initial weather warnings, numerous participants were at the start and enjoyed the family atmosphere in which adults and children cheered each other on.

The running series had previously started with the Panorama Run and the Spring Run and was looking forward to the upcoming Freising Festival Week. The Uferlos Festival was a long time coming this year, but the running enthusiasts of Freising are already thinking about the next challenge, the folk festival run in September.

A look at the top-class upcoming events shows: The Bavarian Championships for the M14-U20 age groups will take place on July 13th and 14th, 2024 in the Sepp Brenninger Stadium in Erding. Numerous other disciplines are also represented here, giving athletes the chance to prove themselves in various competitions. Here’s to good competitions, lasting friendships and many personal successes!

The Freising track and field athletes not only show off their skills on the track, but also bring a touch of community spirit and team cohesion to every event. The LC Freising is well on the way to mastering the coming challenges with flying colors.
