Latest million donation for AWO: Help for the homeless in Erlangen!
In Erlangen-Höchstadt there is reason for hope for people without a place of residence. The Manfred Roth Foundation generously supported a Workers' Welfare (AWO) project dedicated to helping the homeless. This provides a breath of fresh air in support and underlines the responsibility that is perceived not only in the company, but also in the community.
The “Homeless Aid ERH” project, which AWO Erlangen-Höchstadt launched, is all about support and integration. It aims to not only offer homeless people accommodation, but also to pave the way to a self-determined life. According to Christian Pech, chairman of the AWO, this model not only relieves the burden on cities and communities, but is also a step towards a society based on solidarity.
A holistic approach
The AWO will assume full responsibility for accommodation and social-educational and social-therapeutic support. Michael Thiem, the project manager, emphasizes that the NORMA Foundation is also a crucial supporter and thus illustrates the social responsibility for this important initiative. The care concept goes beyond the classic forms of living and takes into account the individual life situations of those affected, be it families or people suffering from addiction.
Wilhelm Polster from the NORMA Foundation also emphasizes that the initiative opens up new perspectives for homeless people and at the same time relieves the burden on municipalities. “The different living arrangements are a key to meeting the special needs of our clients,” says Polster. This diversity ensures that AWO ERH is able to respond to the respective circumstances and challenges.
The role of the Manfred Roth Foundation
The Manfred Roth Foundation has set itself ambitious goals that go beyond mere supply. As an entrepreneur with a responsibility towards over 1,400 employees worldwide, Manfred Roth is aware of his role in society. The foundation was founded with the aim of achieving a sustainable and cross-generational impact, which is expressed through diverse support for cultural life, church communities, sports clubs and educational institutions.
The foundation contract includes twelve points that regulate the use of funds. In addition to Manfred Roth, his wife Heike and their three children, Claus-Hinrich Roth, Christin Roth-Jäger and Dr. Anne Kathrin Roth. This commitment demonstrates deep roots in the community and a clear commitment to promoting and supporting people in need.
This integrative approach, coupled with the commitment of the Manfred Roth Foundation and the AWO, takes into account one of the most pressing social needs in Erlangen-Höchstadt. The combination of individual care and solidarity-based responsibility could be the key to opening up new perspectives for many homeless people.
