Erding is moving: historical movement in the new photo calendar!
The anticipation for the historical journey through time in Erding is increasing! From November 11, 2025, the Erding Museum's new photo calendar will be available under the title “Erding on the move - mobility in historical photographs”. This is the fourth edition of the calendar, which still has a sequel in the pipeline for 2026. The calendar takes viewers on an exciting journey through mobility in Erding from 1860 to the 1960s.
A total of twelve historical photographs document the development of the different means of transport in the city. These include impressions of people on foot, on horse-drawn carts, on bicycles, motorcycles and in automobiles. Particularly interesting: The Erding Velocipede Club as well as a motorcycle club and a hired coach company are also shown. These photos reflect the mobility of the time and show how the everyday life of Erdingers has changed over time.
Exclusive insights and digital extensions
What's special about this calendar is not just the story it tells, but also the modern technology it uses. A QR code provides access to digital versions of selected photographs that are animated using artificial intelligence. This means that those interested can experience the historical images in a completely new way.
The calendar is printed in a handy DIN A3 format and in a limited edition of just 300 copies. The first ones who want to grab it shouldn't hesitate: the price is a fair 20 euros. The calendar is available in the Erding Museum at Prielmayerstrasse 1 and in selected Erding bookstores.
A look into the past
The Erding Museum can look back on an impressive archive with over 40,000 photographs. The first annual calendar with historical city views was published two years ago and was very popular. The third edition of another calendar is entitled “City in Transition – Erding in Historical Views” and will be published this month. It includes photos from 1870 to 1950 and shows important social structures, such as the city's former commercial buildings and businesses.
The development becomes even more exciting through participation in the cultural life of the region. The museum not only offers historical achievements, but also space for art and community. The diversity of offerings ensures that Erding is very popular as a cultural location.
Pre-orders for the new photo calendar are now possible by calling 08122/408158 or by email to museum@erding.de. If you want to experience the opportunity and Erding's rich history, you shouldn't miss this calendar!
The museum points out the attractive opening times: Tuesday to Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and promises a piece of Erdinger's history to take with you in the calendar.
