Pure culture in July: Dachau celebrates with concerts and festivals!

In July 2025, the Dachau district is offering a colorful program full of events that promise a welcome change for both families and those interested in culture. From concerts to festivities to exciting exhibitions, there is everything your heart desires.

On Friday, July 4th, little artists aged 6 and over are cordially invited to the Dachau Kreativschmiede to try out their creative skills at “DachauArt to Participate”. Further information is available by phone at 089/94304845. The following Saturday, July 5th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the summer festival of the Alliance for Dachau will take place, where the band “Roberto y la Picason” will provide musical entertainment, all at Max-Mannheimer-Platz.

Cultural highlights in July

A particularly varied program will take place on Sunday, July 6th, at the Intercultural Family Festival with the motto “Diversity connects” in Fondi Park. Everyone is welcome here to celebrate Dachau’s cultural diversity with fun and games.

For literature lovers, there will be a reading with the author Norbert Göttler in the Neue Galerie Dachau on Wednesday, July 9th at 7:30 p.m. And if you would like to take a look at the Baroque era, you shouldn't miss the Baroque picnic on Saturday, July 12th from 7 p.m. in the palace gardens. But there is also an exciting themed tour about the Gestapo in the concentration camp system, which will take place on the same day from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial. Registration is required here via the Munich Adult Education Center: www.mvhs.de.

On Sunday, July 13th, those interested can start an open city tour “Naturally Dachau” at 11 a.m. Beautiful points of the city are explored. The meeting point is the Moorbadpark. Another guided tour through the exhibition "BLICK.PUNKT. What looks tell" will also take place on this day at 2 p.m. in the Gemäldegalerie Dachau. Registration is also required for this: 08131 5675-13 or verwaltung@dachauer-galerien-museen.de.

Festivals and music

The musical diversity can also be seen the following weekend, for example when viewing the traveling exhibition about board games in the Dachau District Museum, which starts on Sunday, July 20th at 2 p.m. And the “Malweiber tour” on Saturday, July 26th at 2 p.m. also promises fun – registration required!

A highlight of the month will be the “kult’23 Festival”, which will take place from September 13th to 17th, 2023 on the Ludwig-Thoma-Wiese in Dachau. This event has become firmly established after the successful revival in 2021. With a wide supporting program - including local bands, Irish music and workshops - it is aimed at visitors of all ages. Supported by numerous volunteers and sponsors, the festival will be experienced in a large event tent as well as in a sensory garden and on an outdoor stage. Various food trucks ensure your physical well-being so that no one has to go hungry.

Anyone looking for events will also be at AllEvents found it. This platform not only offers information about events in Dachau, but also an app so you don't miss anything.

This means that July in the Dachau district will be a festive month full of experiences and activities for every taste. It's worth being there!
